The Vale Resort in Hensol, south Wales, has invested £75,000 in refurbishing one its most popular rooms for weddings as it gears up for a bumper year of nuptials.
The new-look conservatory has been upgraded with the installation of a solid ceiling, complete with sky lights, and floor-to-ceiling renaissance style mirrors, creating an open space filled with natural light.
Situated at the rear of the four-star resort, the new orangery-style room overlooks one of the resort’s 18-hole golf courses with views on to a lake and woodland that sit within 650-acres of countryside.
The conservatory can be used for both wedding ceremonies and breakfasts, accommodating 120 guests for a ceremony and 70 for a reception.
The refurbishment of the conservatory is part of a £400,000 investment programme at the resort this year, which will see upgrades to its conference and event suites, a facelift to the Vale Bar and the extension of the a la carte restaurant.
Stephanie Metson, marketing manager at the Vale Resort, said: “The conservatory is a room that we are extremely proud to show to prospective brides and grooms and, more generally, all of our customers.
“It really is a room with a view, and with the new floor-to-ceiling mirrors it means that the rolling green outlook is reflected across all aspects of the room, whether you’re sitting at the front or back.
“Last year was a record-breaking year for weddings across the resort, with 31 couples celebrating their big day with us in August 2015 alone, and, looking ahead to our pipeline of bookings this financial year, we’re already on track to exceed last year’s success. Our planned investments at the resort are all about making sure that we remain best in class and stay at the top of our game when it comes to providing the best setting and services for a couple’s big day.”
