OVERVIEW

A Unique Wedding Celebration

Brimming with history and romance, the Mary Rose is a truly unique wedding venue; a blend of distinct and stylish, quirky and atmospheric, prestigious and fun.

Set in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, with spectacular views over the harbour, The Mary Rose Museum is enveloped in maritime history. Stroll through the cobbled streets of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and past HMS Victory, or jump on your own private bridal buggy for a speedier arrival at this extraordinary venue space, which sits on the water’s edge. The museum can host your ceremony or just your celebration and your personal dedicated wedding organiser ensures everything is just as you want it to be.

From 6pm, guests can arrive and enjoy a private tour of the museum with our knowledgeable guides, with exclusive use of all three floors of the museum. A champagne welcome on The Bridge Gallery with its stunning views over the historic waterfront is idyllic.

It’s an exceptional space to have your wedding photographs taken, or you can move inside to the Upper Deck, where the magnificent timbered hull of the Mary Rose makes a stunningly evocative backdrop.

The Admiral’s Gallery

The Admiral’s Gallery can host an elegant wedding dinner for up to 100 people, surrounded by the finest treasures recovered from Henry VIII’s magnificent flagship. It’s a unique space which can easily accommodate a disco, a jazz trio or a string quartet for an additional touch of fun or flair.

The Upper Deck

The Upper Deck is sensational for a prestigious evening wedding reception for up to 50 guests. Set against the atmospherically-lit backdrop of the hull of the ship, The Upper Deck brings guests closer than ever before to the Mary Rose; it’s as close as you can get to tying the knot on the ship herself. Separated from the magnificent ship’s oak timbers only by a waist-high glass balustrade, guests can drink in the evocative sights and scents on this sophisticated balcony bedecked with soft white pea lights, crisp linen and fresh flowers. For those looking to party after dinner, the Admiral’s Gallery can be set up with its dance floor for a disco, live music and plenty of dancing.
