OVERVIEW

Whether you are looking to hold a small intimate wedding reception or a large grand affair, the venue you choose will be an integral part of making your day a memorable one. Here at the Old Ship Hotel, we not only have a range of suitable rooms to choose from, we also have over 250 years of experience of doing it!

The hotel has been hosting grand occasions since 1819, including the Prince Regent’s Ball. Ideal for weddings of 20 to 200, it is the Honeymoon location in Vanity Fair, written by Thackeray in 1848 and, today, the elegance of the Paganini Ballroom and Regency Suite still offers the timeless surroundings of the era.

Dating back, in parts, to 1559, history tells us that one constant all patrons, past and present, have enjoyed throughout that time is excellent service and attention to detail so where better to celebrate your Wedding than in the Regency splendour of Brighton's oldest and best loved hotel. We hold a Civil Wedding Ceremony licence so you can hold the whole event at the hotel or just the meal, and our packages can be tailored to exceed all expectations with your dedicated event planner working closely with you to ensure your every need is met. Whether you are looking for a traditional sit down formal wedding breakfast or a more unconventional and informal gathering in the unique banqueting environment of the Wine Cellars, the Old Ship Hotel can help.

Now part of The Cairn Hotel Group, a family run business since the 1950’s, this grand old hotel is now looking forward to welcoming a new generation of traditional and civil wedding couples to start the next chapter in the history of this iconic building.
